our guests say…

I believe a retreat is made up of three factors. Getting out of your mind and into your body, relaxing your nervous system and thus creating space to feel joy, lightness and connection again. This is why you will see that we often have the afternoons free to explore, create, rest or just go for a dip in the pool and read your book.

We spoke to some of the guests at our Bedford retreat, to find out what they thought of the experience.

What did you get out of your retreat experience?

  • “It’s hard to sum up into words, but essentially it was more than I could have hoped for. A chance to unwind, enjoy amazing nourishing food, enjoy the Pilates practice with an amazing teacher, meeting new inspiring woman who have become friends…..but most importantly learning about myself, and coming away with a deeper understanding and appreciation of all I do for those around me. It felt like the retreat was a charger and my energy went back to 100% after that weekend.” – Fifi
  • “The retreat was exactly what I needed. Being completely looked after, fed the most amazing food, moving my body during Pilates, and indulging in the sound bath and facial was heaven. Meeting all the other amazing women was the most wonderful bonus. The best weekend!” – Caitlin

What would you say to someone on the fence about coming on retreat?

  • “DO IT! It makes you stop. Breathe and general be a healthier version of yourself to go back to everyday life.” – Rachel B
  • “To definitely do it, you’ll not regret it. It’ll be what you need without even being able to state explicitly what it is you need.” – Rachel K

What did you like best about coming on retreat?

  • “Surprisingly I came to take the time for myself, but actually think one of the best aspects was meeting the other amazing women. Also pilates was so good and good blew my mind. Great massage (had a nap after) and about to do my facial- which I’m so excited for. Oh also the sound bat- I’d never done one. So amazing.”  – Caitlin
  • “Literally enjoyed everything so so much. The people truly made it- and all the attention to detail.” – Adrienne
  • “Great group of women, great venue, brill pilates, good balance of activity and free time.” – Louise
  • “Adored the setting and family feel. The crystal healing was hugely powerful and emotive of me. The movement classes and delicious food was phenomenal. Feeling so at ease with all the girls and being so well looked after by you Jenny. Thank you.” – Caitlin

Fiona says...

“I’ve always wanted to go on a retreat but I’ve never known exactly which one to choose as there are so many! I’ve always tended to find the more fitness focus ones appealing but now I realise what I actually needed is what’s written on the tin… A RETREAT!!

And that’s what really brought me to Evamoso and Jenny. Call it Kismet, call it the right place at the right time, but when Jenny was advertising her weekend retreat in the UK and I looked at what was on offer, I knew this could be a match made in heaven. I was expecting there to be some Pilates, some treatments and some lovely food on offer.  I didn’t realise what I was going to get was one of the best weekends of my life!

The trouble I think with a lot of retreats, is that they can be overly scheduled – every minute is planned for you and one of the brilliant things about how Jenny has organised hers, is that she gives you time for yourself . Yes, you have a Pilates class with one of the most incredible teachers you’ve ever had, yes-  you do eat some of the most delicious food you’ve ever been prepared (and by the way you also get snacks throughout the day which was a game changer for me!) and yes – you will have a facial that will blow your mind and you’ll be talking about nearly a year later ! But, you will also be given the chance to spend time reading or walking or chatting; however you want to spend your time. It’s a personal touch that made the retreat so accessible and made you feel very relaxed and not like it was your “first time” and you felt like a bit of a “newbie”.

There was also something about the group of women that attended this retreat. For instance, I had never experienced a sound bath, and neither had a lot of the group. Not only was it relaxing in a totally new way to me, the safety of the space created by the practitioner and by Jenny gave us all a chance to really “breathe out” and let go of things that we had all been holding in for a very long time. It was powerful, it was connecting, and it was really something quite special.”|
